My Husband, Peter, and son Eli paddled together in the Parent/Child division. My daughter Meg and her boyfriend, David came in third place in the Co-Ed Division, and My son Ian, and his friend, Jake, came in third place overall. My brother-in-law Danny and his daughter, Martha also did a great job in the Parent/Child Division. The weather cooperated and gave the boaters a nice, cooler, sunny day which was optimal for racing.
There are so many generations of river racers who pass on their talents and efforts to the next generation. It is nice to attend the award ceremony later in the evening and see families together with grandparents, kids and grandkids who all compete in the race in various categories. It really is a hometown tradition amongst families.
Arthur Benner does a great job organizing the whole event and there is a whole crew of racers who clean all the trees and brush which has grown in over the course of the year to get it ready for the race. Once again Bold Moves Real Estate donated the trophies this year. It really is a great tradition for the MacGregor Family as well as so many local families.
